Electronics, sensor, embedded automation, and signal processing – a cross-cutting area applied to the fields of biomedical, agriculture, environmental, energy, safety, and consumer products. Apply knowledge in design and implementation of engineering systems and devices, mathematics, analytical, and software to solve problems to improve quality of life.

  • Agriculture – precision agriculture, robotics aerial and ground applications, automation in water and energy conservations, specialty crops automation, ubiquitous sensors and network.
  • Environmental – distributed systems automation and data
  • Fire safety – Automation of fire retardant handling, security and safety of fires suppression systems and vessels, information systems.
  • Renewable Energy – Thermo-chemical reactor automation, sensing, and Signal processing
  • Consumer Products – devices for animal welfare, recreational, and assistive living
