Giving to ABE

ABE is excelling and growing in teaching, research, and outreach in these aspects of human well-being: (1) a safe and adequate food supply, (2) safe and adequate natural resources, and (3) advanced healthcare. Donors can support ABE in ways that will have immediate and/or long-term impact on our students, faculty, and staff. Below are a few current opportunities for giving to ABE:

  • Building Expansion
Support the expansion of ABE facilities to include an annex for teaching and research labs. We now have roughly 500 students and 18 faculty and need additional space. We commissioned a consultant in 2021 who informed us that based on current department size and projected growth, we will need 17,783 additional square feet, i.e. 54% more space, by 2025.
  • Named Scholarship Endowment
Support undergraduate students in covering the cost of attendance at MSU.
  • High-impact Learning Activities
Support student attendance at technical conferences, international study and field-trip opportunities, etc.
  • Endowed Chairs and Professorships
Support the research and teaching programs of exceptional faculty members as they develop new knowledge in cutting-edge technical fields.
  • Named Graduate Fellowship Endowment
To provide support for doctoral students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Laboratory Equipment
Support the procurement of cutting-edge instruments for an ABE laboratory.
  • Miscellaneous
Support the unspecified needs of the department through gifts of various amounts.
