Land Surveying

Land Surveying emphasis provides the student with the necessary prerequisites to begin the three-step process of becoming a registered Land Surveyor in Mississippi. These steps include academic training, three years of surveying experience (supervised by a registered land surveyor) and testing. The state Professional Engineering/Professional Land Surveyor Board requires 62 hours including 9 hours of surveying courses. Employment opportunities for registered land surveyors in Mississippi are exceptional and include an extensive number of land surveying or engineering firms as well as local, state, and federal government agencies. The demand for these highly trained individuals continues to far exceeds the supply.
